Pikip Solar Speakers has partnered once again with Paul Emilieu, designing two bespoke speaker systems tailored to the needs of two of the designer and interior architect’s new installations. With these latest projects, Pikip Solar Speakers reaffirms its ability to deliver custom-built equipment and a truly personalised service.

Les Nouveaux Ensembliers Fair: Paul Emilieu’s Nomadic Embassy
Organised by the Mobilier National and the National Manufactures, the Les Nouveaux Ensembliers Fair draws inspiration from the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts, which celebrated Art Deco and the union of luxury and functionality.
From October 14 to November 2, 2025, the event highlights a new generation of architect-decorators invited to rethink spaces through a lens combining aesthetics, contemporary uses, and sustainability.
For the occasion, Paul Emilieu designed a modular, reversible, and transportable installation, built from repurposed textiles and objects. At its center stands a self-powered speaker crafted by Pikip Solar Speakers and hand-painted by Pierre Yves Morel. This speaker accompanies receptions and talks with an eco-conscious approach.
Located at the heart of the space, the unit integrates a speaker drawn from Pikip’s Stage LT range, the VCH30. This horn-loaded system features dual 8’’ drivers and a 1.4’’ compression driver, offering high precision and excellent vocal intelligibility in the mid-high range. Here, the speaker has been vertically configured to narrow its horizontal directivity to 30°, allowing it to project sound or ambience without disturbing the embassy’s work zones.
For low frequencies, a custom-made enclosure was designed to complement the system and evoke the look of a “Roman column.” This bass cabinet, fitted with a 12’’ bass-reflex driver, delivers deep and precise lows without resonance. The full system operates efficiently from 45 Hz to 18 kHz.
The pedestal of the installation houses amplifiers and DSP, and, true to PikiP’s philosophy, the entire system is energy autonomous. A solar-charged battery powers not only the sound amplification but also the whole embassy, thanks to a 3000 W inverter.

Les ateliers d’artistes de la Villa Hegra
Paul Emilieu was also invited to design the furnishings for the artists’ studios at Villa Hegra, the first Franco-Saudi cultural foundation located in AlUla. Balancing practicality, hospitality, and a sense of place, he created a series of mobile, modular, and adaptable furniture pieces to suit the evolving needs of successive artist residencies.
For this project, Pikip Solar Speakers designed a custom energy-independent sound system to support workshops, performances, and events on-site. The unit includes an integrated generator and battery, ensuring full energy autonomy.
